Hi guys,

We need to decide what books we're going to read for April and May. At our first meeting we chose The Invention of Hugo Cabret and The Burn Journals, but I want to make sure that those are still the books you want to read.

I know Nathan has a couple of other books that he'd really like to read...this is your chance, man...make your case! :) So all of you please toss out ideas and tell us why we should read your books or say "I want to read the ones we already chose".

I'd like to make this decision before the end of next week (so if you could please respond by next Wed 3/11 that'd be great) so that I hopefully have time to order them and get them delivered before our next meeting 3/19/09.

Hi Everybody,

I'm not sure if you've heard or not, but the Escondido City Council voted last night to reduce the library's hours to only 15 hours per week so we'll only be open from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting March 1, 2009. We're also going to be losing 26 of our part time staff members which means that those of us left will have to work on the desks more often and have more jobs to take care of besides putting on fun programs like the book club.

I'm going to try as hard as I can to stick to our regular schedule and continue to get funding to buy the books each month, but please stay tuned in case we have to juggle things around and switch days or times.

I'm looking forward to seeing all of you next Thursday to discuss Life As We Knew It.
